Most of the photographs in this book were made in the first years after
the Velvet Revolution, from late 1989 to 1993. Tomki Němec also photographed
the president from 1997 to 2003, when asked to do so by the press department
of the Office of the Czech President, but that was only sporadically.
Tomki stopped working on the “ topic of Václav Havel” once and for all in 2003,
when president was leaving office.
